Spending the last year of my life living in someone else’s place left me restless, unsettled and uncertain.  And even though I had those feelings, I knew ~ I knew ~ I knew that somehow I would be alright.  With no alimony, I had made it a year.  With good credit (810 Fico that I am very proud of) and minimal proceeds from the sale of my home ~ I’m settled.  Settled into an area where three years ago I knew I would live!

I managed this course ~ 7 Steps to a Peaceful Heart after Divorce.  I managed to help others with divorce coaching, healing sessions while helping myself.  I managed to show others how to heal while healing myself and TODAY ~ TODAY ~ TODAY I rode my bicycle down a path that resembles this picture that I bought online for YOU, for this website.

Backtrack two months:  I found my condo by finding the Nature Trail first.  I knew, I knew I would want to be near it.  One day, when I was looking at condos, I saw two red tail foxes on the outskirts of the trail.  That was the day I was hooked.  I bought a fold-up bicycle, placed it in my trunk and took it to the trail several times.  So far, I took a few clients there AND I had a healing on my friends table as well!  YES, YES, YES!!!  Hence, my meetup calendar!  See Details

Growing up, our family never did nature stuff.  We just didn’t.  In fact, my mom screamed for help when she saw a cockroach and my dad ~ well my dad was a cop and the world outside was “dangerous”.  Camping?  The closest we ever got to that was when we went for a few summers up to North Carolina and spent summers in cabins.

I am a Capricorn ~ Capricorns are “earthy”.  I am supposed to be near nature and yet, tonight I rode on my bicycle and noticed my excitement.  I have mostly conquered my former beliefs and conditioning of fear regarding nature and people in general.  That is why I am so thrilled to be here…  so thrilled…  so thrilled…

The funny thing about tonight is this:  as I rode up to the nature trail, (having left behind the mace) I noticed the gates were locked for cars to enter.  I entered anyway ~ but I only rode in for a few seconds…  I listened to the many sounds of nature, smelled the scent of rain on earth, looked for the foxes and made a quick U-turn.  For today, for this moment in time, I am SO very content ~ it is WAY beyond bliss…

Spiritual teachers have always pointed to the heart as the seat of consciousness, and recently Western science has found evidence to support this realization. It turns out that the heart has its own central nervous system and is not simply under the rule of the brain as formerly believed. Anyone who has taken the time to explore the heart knows this and, more important, has realized that the heart is the source of our connection to a consciousness greater than the ego. Approaching life with an open heart means that we have opened the door to this greater consciousness, taking up residence alongside it in the seat of our soul. Fortunately, at this time there is a lot of support for this shift energetically as well as practically. To some degree, approaching life with an open heart is as simple as shifting your attention onto your heart.

Eventually you will be able do this any time, any place, but at first it may help to try it in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Simply sit with your eyes closed and draw your breath into your heart. As your breath expands your chest cavity, your heart expands and opens. You may feel tenderness or sadness in your heart, and you may also feel relief. Any emotions that arise can be effectively witnessed and healed through the meditation process, which benefits both your physical heart and your energetic heart. The more you practice, the more you will find your heart opening to your own presence and to all the situations your life brings.

When we open our hearts, they may feel tender and vulnerable, which simply means that they need our loving attention as we cleanse and heal them of past hurts and blockages. This process asks us to practice some of the heart’s greatest lessons—patience, compassion, and unconditional love. On the other hand, we may take up residence as effortlessly as a bird returns to its nest. Either way, approaching life with an open heart simply means returning to our true home.
